Major design award in Latin America will give R$ 175,000 in prizes
Registration is open for Salão Design, a competition held for 25 years by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves, aiming to integrate creativity and technological innovation to furniture and accessories through design. The 18th edition of the competition will give R$ 175,000 in prizes in the professional, student and industry classes.
Organized together with Movelsul in 2014, Salão Design encourages the creation of products that democratize design in seven categories: Furniture for Bedrooms, Furniture for Dining and Living Rooms, Furniture for Kitchens, Laundry Rooms and Bathrooms, Outdoor Furniture, and Home-Office and Office Furniture (including furniture for commercial and public areas), Home Utensils, and Lighting.
The registration deadline for Salão Design is November 3. Entries will be evaluated by in two phases, starting in November. The announcement of the winners will take place in February, but all products selected for the second phase of the evaluation will participate in the Salão Design shows held during Movelsul 2014, March 24 – 28.
