After participating in fashion shows such as São Paulo Fashion Week, Minas Trend Preview and Rio Fashion Week, the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves, Sindmóveis, now invests in the expansion of contacts in Latin America. In partnership with the Brazilian Association of Textile and Apparel Industry (Abit) and Apex, a lounge at Colombiatex of the Americas 2012, a business showcase of the fashion system, will exhibit the new creation of the architects Tina and Lui Lo Pumo, curators of Casa Brasil trade show, as a means of promoting the event. The Casual Line for Colombiatex, for example, designed by Tina and Lui, features flexible knocked down furniture to meet the temporary needs at exhibitions. They consist of tables, sofas and ottomans constructed in modules – in addition to chairs – made from materials such as pine laminate and silicone foam pads. Provided by exhibitors at the Colombian fashion fair, the fabrics used in furniture designed by the Brazilian architects can be modified in a simple way: the cushions of the seats can be removed as they are attached to furniture with Velcro strips. This is a pioneering action plan of a segment that in 2012 starts to be part of the Orchestra Brasil project organized by Sindmóveis to promote exports. From now on, in addition to the suppliers of the furniture industry, furniture designers are part of Orchestra Brasil, thus including the export of services in the project. As a result, Sindmóveis has increasingly contributed to the internationalization of the furniture design, by bringing together Casa Brasil trade show, Salão Design competition and Orchestra Brasil, which is supported by Apex-Brasil.
Colombiatex of the Americas has combined business and discussions about fashion for 24 years, bringing together groups that maintain a closer look at different forms of design – a special reason for the participation of Sindmóveis. In addition to the world leading references that include Italy and France, one of the most researched markets by the organization is Brazil.
