About the Raiz Project
The Brazilian culture has international recognition and the designer furniture developed in Brazil has left its mark on the world's leading design circuits. Having this in mind, Sindmóveis and Apex-Brasil, through the Raiz Project, encourage the generation of business by designer studios that are ready to work internationally, especially in the North American and European markets.
Based on the action plan aimed at entering the international market, the Raiz Project intensifies positioning strategies in the foreign market, provides designers with contacts and reports from commercial intelligence, promotes a bigger share of information and experience among the companies, conducts the promotion advancement and the entrance of furniture designers into the priority markets with all the required support and the segmentation of the group according to their level of internationalization.
The Raiz Project, established in 2012, is part of the Orchestra Brasil Project (carried out since 2006), a partnership between Sindmóveis and Apex-Brasil, aimed at the internationalization of suppliers to the Brazilian furniture industry. The design segment, included in 2012, was named the Raiz Project in 2014 as the result of the Design Challenge, an initiative developed throughout last year with the studios aiming to broaden their experience in the creation of products based on the view of a North American team. The new brand expresses the sum of cultures that nurtures the national creativity.
Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves has been investing in design as a competitive advantage for the Brazilian furniture industry since 1988, when it established the Salão Design Award. Later, in 2007, Sindmóveis set up Casa Brasil, a trade fair exhibiting high-end furniture and complements that, in 2016, started to be held in São Paulo under a new name: High Design – Home&Office Expo.
