From October 19-28, Sindmóveis promotes the Casa Brasil Generation exhibit in Belo Horizonte, with the participation of 21 designers
More than 20 designers who participate in Orchestra Brasil, a project to encourage exports promoted by Sindmóveis in partnership with the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will take part in the 4th Brazilian Biennial Design Exhibit 2012 through the Casa Brasil Generation exhibit. From October 19-28, professionals who have participated in Casa Brasil designing products for exhibiting companies, entering the Salão Design competition or taking part in the special projects of the fair will display their creations at the Museu de Minas e Metais in Belo Horizonte.
The theme of the exhibit will be the Casulo color palette of Caderno Inspiração Brasil +B, by the Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers (Abest). Projeto3 and UNT Design, based in Bento Gonçalves, are part of the 21 exhibiting studios. Projeto3 will display the Luana table, developed in 2012 aimed at the middle class. Daniel Camera, the designer in charge of developing the product, says that the use of color is critical to enhance design, showing the details of the machining operation and giving the impression that it is an artisan product made on an industrial scale. “A collapsible table made from 1.2 m2 MDF board that uses machining technology as its great competitive advantage,” says Camera.
UNT Design will exhibit two products. The Infinito bench, designed in 2007 to furnish living rooms, is based on the concept of formal simplicity and the characterization of the mathematical symbol of infinity. The Shell armchair is inspired by natural forms, featuring a fiberglass base, high gloss finish, upholstered with fabric showing a geometric pattern, which emphasizes a retro aspect with organic forms. The product was designed last year and manufactured by Móveis Daf.
The participation in the Brazilian Biennial Design Exhibit is part of the action plan of the Orchestra Brasil project. In addition to the Casa Brasil Generation, the project will bring three South American journalists to the event, in order to position the Brazilian design in this market. Additionally, during the biennial exhibit, Apex-Brasil will promote a seminar to give exposure to the designers of the project. “The initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the use of design as a tool for the competitiveness of the industry, ensuring the permanence of Brazilian companies in the global market,” says the president of Sindmóveis, Cátia Scarton.
The Casa Brasil Generation exhibit includes products signed by designers Bernardo Senna, Carlos Alcantarino, Em2 Design, Estudiobola, Eulália Anselmo, Faro Design, Fix Design, Flávia Pagotti Silva, Girona Design, Heloísa Crocco, Lattoog Design, Llussá Marcenaria, Luiz Pedrazzi, Mameluca Design, Marton+Marton, Oficina Ethos, Porfírio Valladares, Projeto3 Design, Regis Padilha Designer, Tina e Lui and UNT Design.
