The initiative aims to understand the market and present products manufactured in Brazil
From 10-13 September 10-13, Orchestra Brasil, a project that encourages exports of supplies for the furniture industry, promoted by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) and Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) takes part in the Furniture Manufacturing & Supply (FMC China 2014). Held in Shanghai since 1993, the fair received almost 34,000 visitors in 2013 and, this year, it will take place concurrently with Furniture China 2014.
This participation aims to understand and explore the market, exhibiting the technology and solutions produced by Brazilian manufacturers. A kitchen developed by BRV Móveis will show visitors an overview of the Brazilian industry that supplies products for furniture, featuring components, accessories and finishes produced by member companies of the Orchestra Brasil.
China has the largest and most dynamic furniture industry in the world, and therefore it is one of the leading manufacturers and importers of inputs and components for manufacturing furniture. According to the president of Sindmóveis, Henrique Tecchio, the country is considered a strategic element for partnerships and understanding the global furniture market. "Sindmóveis works to strengthen the furniture supply chain as a whole and understands that assisting its suppliers to export also contributes to the excellence of the Brazilian furniture”, he says.
The Orchestra Brasil Project has been carried out since 2006 promoting the competitive inclusion of suppliers of the woodworking sector in the international market in a sustainable way. Currently it comprises 72 member companies and 38 design studios. The project has had good results in recent years. In 2013, the participating companies reported significant increase in exports. Compared to 2012, exports increased 14.6%, representing four consecutive years of growth. The priority markets were essential to this performance. The growth in these countries was 19.4% in 2013, higher than the overall growth, just like the other years.
