The Orchestra Brasil Project will support Artecola and Promob Softwares companies during their participation in the 26th edition of TecnoMueble Guadalajara, held from August 13-16. The fair brings together approximately 150 exhibitors of equipment and accessories for the furniture industry in an 8,000 square meter show floor.
Mexico, the second largest economy in Latin America, has a thriving furniture industry, and is also one of the largest importers in the world of inputs used by the industry. It employs almost 50,000 people with an estimated production of US$ 6.8 billion in 2013, a figure 6.1% higher when compared to 2012.
A recent report released by the IMF predicts that Mexico will grow by 2.4% in 2014 and 3.5% in 2015, while the forecast for Brazil suggests a growth of 1.3% in 2014 and 2% in 2015. Also a priority market for the Orchestra Brasil Project, Mexico increased by 24.2% its imports of products manufactured by the participating companies along the first half of this year compared with the same period last year.
The Orchestra Brasil Project has been carried out since 2006 by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).The initiative promotes the competitive inclusion of suppliers of the woodworking sector in the international market in a sustainable way.
