Buyer’s Project to be held next week with the participation of five guests and twelve companies
In an initiative of Sindmóveis  International Committee of Bento Gonçalves aimed exclusively to its member companies, the association will hold from September 29 to October 3, a Buyer’s Project with the participation of Bolivian importers. Five buyers of furniture from Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz de La Sierra were invited to business meetings and visits to the factories of the furniture center. They imported furniture worth approximately US$ 4.5 million in 2013.

Exports by the furniture industry in Bento Gonçalves have been declining since last year. In the first half of 2014, it fell by 2.7% compared to the same period last year. Altogether, twelve companies have signed up to participate in the project.

Moreover, in recent years, it has been one of the most dynamic markets for Brazilian furniture with consecutive growth. In the first half of 2014, it was the sixth largest destination for furniture exporters from Brazil, with imports worth US$ 18.2 million and an increase of 23.2% over the same period in 2013.
