Design and craftsmanship go beyond the booths at Casa Brasil 2013. Architects and members of the show curatorship, Tina and Lui, will decorate the setting of the area for special projects and the entrance hall of the fair with trees made of fabric, in partnership with designer and weaver Renato Imbroisi and Fleury & Layus Arquitetura based in São Paulo.
Tina and Lui create a setting with fabric trees for Casa Brasil
05/08/2013
Design and trade fair held from August 13-16 in Bento Gonçalves
They consist of more than twenty 4-8 meter pieces, created especially for the event, made of cotton yarn and plant fibers. The fabrics are produced by communities of Minas Gerais, using traditional weaving techniques. Similar to its raw material, the process of creating the trees is completely manual. Eight models of weaving and textures were used for the exhibition at Casa Brasil.
The same proposal was on display at Parque Ibirapuera, at the Ibirá show – Flora, Fauna, People, curated by Renato Imbroisi. Together with Tina and Lui, Imbroisi has also been developing similar work to revive culture with artisans from Bento Gonçalves. The pieces will be presented exclusively at Casa Brasil, which takes place from August 13 – 16 August, in Bento Gonçalves.
